Fundación Cardiovascular de Colombia (FCV) is a health institution founded in 1986 in Bucaramanga - Colombia, which works with excellence criteria, technological innovation and high social sense, to give our users the best attention and experience in health, guaranteeing the provision of services under the highest quality standards. With the objective of generating greater coverage to the needs of health services in Santander, with a national and international projection.

It is integrated by the Instituto Cardiovascular of the FCV the first clinic of the institution, which started in October 1997, and the first one in Colombia accredited as a hospital program by the Joint Commission International (JCI) with the seal 'Gold Seal of Approval ®' since 2009, the recognition that guarantees the compliance of our institution with international standards of quality in medical care for the patient and the administration of health services.

Previously called Instituto del Corazón, the Instituto Cardiovascular of the FCV has the prestige of being the first institution in Colombia with Health Accreditation by the Ministerio de Salud y Protección Social of Colombia; and being the first hospital entity to obtain, in January 2001, the ISO 9001 Certification for all its medical services. Likewise, we are certified as a 'Painless Hospital', by the Asociación Colombiana para el Estudio del Dolor (ACED) and we are a 'Green Hospital' since 2004, the year in which the Operational Management to Donation Program was created to carry out an active search of potential organ and tissue donors.

The experience gained by our institution led JCI to grant in 2019 the international certification as Centers of Excellence to our Heart Failure, Heart Transplant and Ventricular Assistance Programs, being the last two of its kind with the quality seal in Latin America. Likewise, we are leaders in the use of the artificial life support technique known as Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), which has been used since 2007, with clinical results above the world average, being accredited as a Gold Level Center of Excellence by the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization - ELSO.

Currently, we are recognized as one of the three (3) best hospitals in the country, at the level of excellence, and one of the seven (7) best in Latin America, according to the ranking of America Economía 2020 magazine. In the Instituto Cardiovascular of the FCV, we work with the highest standards of patient safety, opportunity in the attention, outstanding quality indicators, modern infrastructure, humanized treatment, and a suitable staff in the handling of advanced techniques, which allow us to be in the vanguard of the best hospital centers in Latin America.
