HIC Patient or Family Entrance Protocol

Every person who enters the HIC, through the Main Lobby, will be welcomed by a nurse who will:

  • Take your temperature.
  • He or she will perform a Quick Respiratory Screening, which consists of a series of questions to quickly assess your health condition.
  • Verify that the person is wearing a mouth cover.
  • Apply glycerine alcohol to your hands.

Attention Protocol External Consultation Service and HIC Executive Medical Checkups
  • Areas have been marked with signs on the floors and walls, to indicate to people that they should maintain social distance while waiting for their attention.
  • All Medical - Assistance Personnel are equipped with all protection and biosecurity elements at all times of the care process.
  • The new service of delivery of a copy of the clinical history through e-mail has been enabled.
  • The New HIC TELECONSULTA Service has been enabled in more than 20 Specialities.

HIC Emergency and Trauma Unit Care Protocol
  • Initial classification of patients, identifying the main symptoms for which they visit the HIC Emergency and Trauma Unit.
  • External Triage Area, isolated and exclusive for Patients with Respiratory Symptoms.
  • Waiting Room and Independent Cubicles exclusively for Patients with Respiratory Pathologies.
  • Waiting Room and Independent Cubicles Exclusively for Patients with Other Pathologies.
All the Medical-Care Staff is equipped with all the protection and biosafety elements at all times of the care process.

HIC Hospitalization Unit Care Protocol
  • The service has been separated into properly demarcated and marked Exclusive Care Zones, to isolate patients with Regular Pathologies from those with Respiratory Symptoms, suspicion or confirmed by COVID - 19.
  • All the Medical - Care Staff are equipped with all the protection and biosafety elements at all times of the care process.

HIC Surgery Unit Care Protocol

The Operation Rooms of the HIC have been separated into:

  • Independent Operating Rooms for patients with respiratory pathologies.
  • Exclusive Operating Rooms for patients with other pathologies.
  • Independent cubicles in Intensive Care Units with Negative Pressure in their Ventilation, separated by the pathology presented by the patient.

Laboratory Service Attention Protocol, Diagnostic Imaging and HIC Blood Bank

Highly Trained and Qualified Staff in Emergency and HIC Trauma
  • All Medical-Care Staff are designated in separate teams for patient care depending on the route of emergency care taken to the hospital admission.
  • The route of admission to the institution is different from that of the patients, exclusive and isolated for the Medical - Care and Administrative staff.
  • Constantly trained in the management of patients with suspicion or confirmed by COVID -19.
  • Equipped at all times with protection and biosecurity elements defined in the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
