ICV Patient or Family Entrance Protocol

Visits for patients who are hospitalized within the institution are not currently permitted. Any person admitted to the ICV through the Main Lobby will be met by a nurse who will see them:

  • Take your temperature.
  • Perform a quick respiratory screening, which consists of a series of questions to quickly assess your health condition.
  • Check that the person is wearing a mouth cover, if not, the clinic will provide one.
  • Glycerine alcohol will be applied to your hands.
  • The access areas to the Emergency Service have signs that allow the patient and/or family member to keep a distance of 1 meter.

Attention Protocol External Consultation Service and ICV Executive Medical Checkups

  • Temperature taking.
  • Quick respiratory screening, which consists of a series of questions to quickly assess your health condition.
  • The person will be asked to wear a cover mouth. If they do not have one, the clinic will provide one.
  • Glycerine alcohol will be applied to your hands.
  • Signs have been placed on floors and walls to indicate that people should maintain social distance while waiting for care.
  • All the Medical - Assistance Personnel are equipped with all the protection and biosecurity elements at all times of the attention process.
  • The New FCV TELECONSULTATION Service  has been enabled in more than 10 Specialties.

ICV Cardiovascular Emergency Unit Care Protocol
  • Glycerine Alcohol will be applied to your hands.
  • Initial classification of patients, identifying the main symptoms for which you visit the ICV Emergency Unit.
  • ERA room, isolated and exclusive for patients with respiratory symptoms.
  • Waiting Room and Independent Cubicles Exclusively for Patients with Other Pathologies.
  • All the Medical-Care Staff is equipped with all the protection and biosafety elements at all times of the care process.

ICV Hospitalization Unit Care Protocol
  • The service has been separated into Exclusive Care Zones properly demarcated and marked, to isolate patients with Regular Pathologies from those with Respiratory Symptoms, suspicion or confirmation by COVID - 19.
  • All the Medical - Care Personnel are equipped with all the protection and biosafety elements at all times of the care process.
  • Video call service is provided for those patients who do not have a caregiver and/or family member within the institution.

ICV Cardiovascular Surgery Unit Care Protocol

The Operating Rooms of the ICV have been separated into:

  • Independent Operating Rooms for Patients with Respiratory Pathologies.
  • Exclusive Operating Rooms for Patients with Other Pathologies.
  • Independent Cubicles with Negative Pressure in their Ventilation, separated by pathology presented by the patient.

Laboratory Service Attention Protocol and ICV Diagnostic Imaging
  • Areas have been marked with signs on the floors and walls, to indicate to people that they should maintain social distance while waiting for their attention.
  • All Medical - Assistance Staff is equipped with all the protection and biosecurity elements at all times of the care process.
  • The New HOME CLINICAL LABORATORIES:  Service has been set up.
  • The new service for LOADING LABORATORY RESULTS AND ONLINE DIAGNOSTIC IMAGES has been enabled.

Highly Trained and Qualified Staff in ICV Emergencies
  • All Medical-Care Staff are designated in separate teams to care for patients depending on the safe route of care in the Emergency Room they have taken upon admission to the facility.
  • Constantly trained in the management of patients with suspicion or confirmed COVID-19.
  • Drill with all staff on the management of COVID-19 confirmed or suspected patients.
Equipped at all times with protection and biosecurity elements defined in the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
